Skating on wild ice at Gap Lake near Canmore Alberta

Wild ice skating is one of the coolest experiences we’ve had since living here in the Bow Valley! There’s a small mountain lake near our town called Gap Lake, and we heard reports that it had frozen thick enough to skate on, but without any snow cover!! Basically the most majestic conditions you could possibly imagine for an outdoor skating rink. So we headed out first thing in the morning with a few of our most adventurous friends, and it was an unforgettable experience that we got to share with our dogs.
